The enormously talented Irish musician Glen Hansar

The enormously talented Irish musician Glen Hansard died last week in a motorcycle accident. He was 56. This is an unfathomable loss. The musical world is gutted. As am I. Let me explain.

Glen Hansard permeated my universe back in 2014, when my husband and I experienced Once on Broadway. I was smitten by every part of that performance. The build to “Falling Slowly” absolutely wrecked me.

My stunned self walked out of that theater, grabbed Don’s arm, and said with urgency: “Everyone needs to experience this show.”

This is the exact moment Grab Your Group & GO was conceived.

Glen didn’t just inspire this group; he handed us the blueprint.

At its core, Once is about creating connection through the shared experience of music. Our group, in its most hopeful and authentic form, does the same—creating connections through the shared experience of theater, music, art, walking, talking, dining, learning, travel, and more.

On the day Glen died, I was with a small group at the Guggenheim with our historian, Kevin Draper. Of the seven of us there, I’d only known one person before this group existed. No group, no Kevin. No Natalie. No Rosario. No new friends Laura and Darlene, who joined for their very first Walk & Learn that day.

Our group exists because of Glen Hansard. That’s all there is to it.

Thank you, Glen Hansard, for everything you gave the world - including a big piece of ours: Grab Your Group & GO!

The photos compiled for this reel? A smattering of our favorite memories over the last 11 years - most of which would not have happened were it not for Glen Hansard.

It’s crazy to consider any one of these memories NOT happening.

I’ll keep raising my hopeful voice in your honor, Glen. Thank you for Once. Thank you for this group. Thank you for all of it.

With Gratitude,

Linda

There is nothing quite like exploring a stunning coastline on two wheels with a group! 🚲🌊

Our founder Linda and co-founder Stacie just got back from exploring Nova Scotia with a FUN and amazing group!

The group spent the week pedaling past iconic lighthouses and quiet fishing villages, swimming in the chill waters, tasting the region’s wines, and savoring its seafood. From gazing out to sea to viewing the varied landscapes of colorful Lunenburg and the dramatic Bay of Fundy! There was even some impromptu singing and dancing thrown in after dinner!

The entire trip reminded us exactly why @backroadstravel is our favorite active travel company. They’ve completely mastered the art of traveling at your own pace - either biking, hiking or multi adventure style - with like-minded fellow travelers.

Thinking about an active getaway and want to skip the logistics? Whether you want to head up to Canada or explore routes further abroad (Backroads goes to all 7 continents!), we handle the heavy lifting, so you can just GO!

Drop us a DM or click the link in our bio to chat about where you want to go next!

Want to take a moment to CELEBRATE and to say THANK YOU!

Last week, Grab Your Group & GO was honored by our host agency, Gifted Travel Network, with the Momentum Award, which recognizes agencies across the network that achieved exceptional year-over-year growth in 2025.

Thank you to our travel clients for trusting us with your adventures. You choose to GO with us and that means everything. And to those of you who have sent your friends and family our way, you are the reason we get to do what we love. Watching this community grow through your introductions has been the greatest gift.

Thank you to our Hosted Group Travelers! The magic that happens when we bring people together is unlike anything else. The connections you form - to the places you visit and to each other - remind us why we expanded into the travel space in the first place.

And thank you to our AMAZING TEAM who make all of our accomplishments possible.

Here’s to the MOMENTUM and wherever it takes us next!

Founder Linda and Co-founder Stacie are on the GO!

Founder Linda and Co-founder Stacie are on the GO! Both took off for mountain adventures, but on opposite sides of the globe: Linda is in Sun Valley, Idaho and Stacie is in Lech, Austria. It’s always magical to convene with a group for active days on the slopes, followed by cozy and well earned fireside meals.

So many mountain experiences to explore!!! From Japan, to Europe, to here in the States! (And YES, Sun Valley had plenty of snow!).

Ready to plan your own ski adventure to anywhere in the globe? Reach out!

Same song - two different continents! What groups

Same song - two different continents!

What groups LOVE the MOST about our Hosted Travel Experiences isn’t the destination - it’s the people they meet on the journey - whether navigating the vibrant streets of Cartagena or the historic corners of London.

Yes, our days are thoughtfully and thoroughly planned. Yes, every day is filled with experiential activities. Yes, our groups leave each destination with a deeper understanding of the place. But it is the remarkable humans who they meet on our trips that resonate the most.

This has everything to do with the people who decide to go... Our group travelers are interesting, interested, open to one another and open to a whole host of new experiences. This type of person makes for an excellent travel pal and leads to an oh so appealing group dynamic.

Sound like something you would like to be a part of? Join one of our trips to London - in April or May! A grand time will be had by all.

*******************

We have two ways to see London this spring, and the groups are already coming together:

Our APRIL ADVENTURE - hosted by @grabyourgroupandgolinda - captures all the best of London. April 13th to 17th!

Our MAY EXPLORATION - hosted by @arlenecruz_66 - showcases the city in bloom and the Chelsea Flower Show - May 17th to 21st!

The theater alone is worth the flight: Both trips include Cynthia Erivo in Dracula and Lesley Manville in Les Liaisons Dangereuses at The National!

Click the link in bio (or paste the one below) to see which itinerary fits you best. Grab the Early Mover Price - available through THIS FRIDAY - Feb 13th!
