Theater District Walk & Learn w/ Kevin Draper

Times Square 42nd & Broadway (North Side of 42nd), New York, New York

Given the nature of this group I felt I had no choice but to select Times Square and The Theater District for our next Walk & Learn experience. As a group that goes to the theater on the reg we obviously log a great deal of time here, but do we really understand how this area came to be? I don't! So picture me ears wide open learning from Kevin. Who's with me?

Canceled Room

James Earl Jones Theatre 138 West 48th Street, New York, New York

Thank you for your shared interest in seeing Room with the group. Due to an investor parting ways with the show the producers have made the difficult decision of not going forward with this show. Room will not be a GO on Broadway. Sad. We will have to wait to see Adrienne Warren another time and on another project.

Special Event: Experience Parade with Broadway Outings for Women

Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre 242 West 45th Street, New York, NY

Broadway Outings for Women (BOW) create opportunities to enhance our experience and enjoyment of the best shows on Broadway. As with most art, we believe that appreciation improves with context and knowledge. BOW events focus on the contributions of women to Broadway productions and dive into the often under-represented female perspective in the Broadway theatre.

Life of Pi

Schoenfeld Theater 236 West 45th Street, New York, NY

I LOVED this book! No idea how it is going to translate to the stage but have heard that some pretty sublime puppetry is involved. Super positive words have been shared by those who have seen it and the Brits went wild for this (5 Olivier Awards, including Best New Play)!

Parade

Emmy Award® winner Ben Platt is moving to Broadway in the can’t-miss event of the year. The New York Times hails it as a Critic’s Pick and “the best-sung musical in many a New York season. It recalls an era of big casts, big stories and big talent – a time when musicals actually felt like events.” Join us!

Camelot

Vivian Beaumont Theater at Lincoln Center 150 W 66th Street, New York, New York

I knew NOTHING about the production when landing on this show. My trust factor for productions overseen by Andre Bishop at Lincoln Center is that HIGH. Now having spent some minutes researching what is in the works, my trust has been rewarded.

I love summer, but as we get closer to summer I get a little cagey about saying adieu to NYC for a couple of months. I kind of do a last gasp culture grab (this year in between celebrating my high school graduates). Seems to me that seeing this show in advance of clearing out of dodge is the IDEAL way to say my temporary goodbyes. Sign me up for any opportunity to see a love letter to NYC on the stage!

Days of Wine and Roses

Given the starry power on stage (Kelli O'Hara and Brian d'Arcy James) and the wondrous creative team it is no surprise that this production is at capacity with very limited seating available unless you want to go over Memorial Day weekend. :) If you want to experience this show - grab your ticket with us and let's GO!
