I think we’ve made it fairly clear that Grab Your Group & GO is dedicated to celebrating and embracing the power of connecting through shared experiences. Fresh back from a bike trip through Mallorca with Backroads: The Active Travel Company, I can say that this form of travel is the ultimate expression of sharing experiences…Continue Reading
Okay… I had a boss that often used to say “sometimes it is better to be lucky than good.” Well, boy did I get lucky with these words my brilliant friend Vanessa shared with me regarding our very limited time in Venice. This is some good stuff – entertaining reading filled with historic tidbits and a guide that includes snacks at almost every turn…Continue Reading
Kyoto is rightfully a full fledged tourist attraction. Throngs and throngs of people from all over the world flock to this gracious and beautiful city to visit it’s many temples and shrines. Our approach to Kyoto was more experiential…Continue Reading
Nothing makes me happier than pondering and planning the details of our next trip or adventure. Plan a ski trip for 5 families? On it! Take 12 moms and 20+ kids to Hershey Park? Put me in charge. Monthly Theater Group for 240 and growing? Bring it on! That being the case you would think I would run screaming away from any kind of pre-organized travel managed by a tour group, but that is not the case…Continue Reading
Michael and Stacie closed their China tour down with 3 days in Beijing. Not Stacie’s favorite city, but sounds like the gateway to some pretty interesting and iconic experiences. Their day at an unrestored portion of The Great Wall alone makes me want to grab my group and go…Continue Reading
When in the Asheville area we got to check out two decidedly different offerings. One created by man and the other by nature. I would recommend adding both to your MUST visit list if you are heading to the area…Continue Reading
My philosophy when going on big trips with the tween set (ages 9 to 12) is to throw two things at the situation: animals and adventure. Animals offer an immediate connection that raises the cortisol levels in our brains which equals warm happy feelings. Adventure provides adrenaline and meaningful activities that keep their traveling brains and bodies busy. Our 3 part tour of Ecuador a few years back offered animals and adventure in copious amounts…Continue Reading
Let me preface this post with this fact: I have never met anyone who did not absolutely LOVE the safari they chose. Abercrombie and Kent, Thomson Family Travel, Backroads, are all companies that I have heard nothing but 100% besotted, enthusiastic, wouldn’t change a thing reviews. With that said, IContinue Reading
We had such an amazing experience with our guides, I had to pen a public thank you. It would not have been the same without them.Continue Reading
This trip was never about the lodging. It was about proximity to animals. We requested smaller camps with more personal service that blended into the landscape such that the land was the star of the show. Where we laid our heads to sleep at night, rightfully played second fiddle to the surroundings, until we arrived at M’Kombe House…Continue Reading
Over dinner on the third night of our trip, we spent some time trying to conjure up the right words to aptly describe our accommodations while on safari…Continue Reading
I imagine there might be some scoffing in the other safari vehicles when I pop out of the top of our tricked out safari truck armed with my dark pink iPhone…Continue Reading
Jambo means Hello in Swahili. Sharing a few pics from our trip. Can’t wait to tell you more about it later this week! Stay tuned…Continue Reading
I like to think of myself as an original thinker. And maybe sometimes I am, but other times I come to find out otherwise. That is what happened when I read this NY Times article last weekend…Continue Reading
