Infinite Life
October 5 @ 7:00 pm

Let’s have ourselves a “no boys allowed” night (sorry boys) at the always welcoming Atlantic Theater to experience Infinite Life by Annie Baker. This nanosecond of a description did the trick for me on this one…
Five women in Northern California sit outside on chaise lounges and philosophize. A surprisingly funny inquiry into the complexity of suffering, and what it means to desire in a body that’s failing you.
Then I went onto research why Ms. Baker’s content has received so much praise. Two paragraphs below sum up the style of Annie Baker’s prose perfectly and poetically…
The New Yorker said Baker “wants life onstage to be so vivid, natural, and emotionally precise that it bleeds into the audience’s visceral experience of time and space. Drawing on the immediacy of overheard conversation, she has pioneered a style of theatre made to seem as untheatrical as possible, while using the tools of the stage to focus audience attention….”
The website The Daily Beast found that, “Baker’s skill is to make us work hard as an audience to make our own sense of her play[s] — the best, most enriching way to view any theatrical performance. Baker’s works are not for those who want easy, A-leads-to-B plots, and spoon-fed meanings… Baker, as all great playwrights do, is holding a mirror up to us all.”
I am excited to experience it. Thank you Betsy P. for your help with making this happen for the group. See you ladies at the show!

Should a situation arise with your purchased tickets we are here for you, so please reach out. If you find yourself unable to attend on the day of the show, we are happy to find lucky recipients for your tickets if you can no longer use them and want to gift them to a good home. Please notify us as soon as possible as we will make every effort to avoid empty seats in the theater.
Let’s also remember the much unsung feature of broadway, the privilege of past dating. You can read about it HERE.
FEES: A service fee is included in the price of each ticket as organizing these events is not an insignificant allocation of time and resources – though we do love most every minute of our time spent masterminding evenings at the theater. The service fee varies from show to show based on cost, demand and our efforts to secure the tickets.
