What defines a life? Or put another way, what defines your place in the universe…Continue Reading
If you were to walk a single city block with me you would quickly observe (and perhaps be slightly annoyed) by my avid (rabid?) appreciation for the creatures on this earth that we call canines. Which is why when on the quest for off-Broadway offerings I dropped everything I was doing to get the group to Space Dogs…Continue Reading
I wonder what all of those people who wrote all of those doom and gloom articles and posts about New York City being dead are doing these days? Writing retractions? Finding some other negativity to spew into the world? Who, in their right mind, would bet against this town that is home to the scrappiest, most resourceful, and creative individuals that can be amassed in one place?Continue Reading
This is my stance on the last two years and my hopes for all of us in 2022. For this family, 2021 had a grim start and has had a grim ending. I would really like to be done with grim. For 2022 how about we have less grim and more VIM? Continue Reading
This past week we crept back, getting close to hitting our pre-pandemic numbers for theater attendance. As an exercise in collective effervescence the more people that are in the group for our audiences the higher the energy and the more rewarding the experience. This is a good and lovely thing and nothing makes me happier than energy bouncing around on the sidewalk as we prepare to enter the theater.Continue Reading
If I had known what a powerful and perfect choice this play was for our group, I would have made more noise about it. You should go experience this play: the words, the premise, the creative use of lighting, and the super hard to pull off, but brilliantly performed monologues.Continue Reading
Over the summer a good friend of a good friend of mine asked me if our New Year’s Day car accident changed the way I live my life. The question, over a cocktail, kinda stopped me in my tracks. I jumbled my reply with some trite and unoriginal answer. Sorry Tracy! Here’s my real answer…Continue Reading
Welcome Back from Summer! I hope you savored every second of fun with friends, family, and grabbed some quiet and introspective times for yourself. Hope you enjoy this quick post about a recent proud Mom moment…Continue Reading
A few months ago my son and I visited the Flight 93 National Memorial. It was a crisp bluebird day – similar to the weather on 9/11. Today on this 20th Anniversary of 9/11, it feels like the right time to share the experience with all of you…Continue Reading
For those of us who live in NYC, the city IS the star of all of our shows. We are all the supporting actors. I for one look forward to being back in the city soon in support of it and all it has to offer. Who is ready to support Broadway with me? Continue Reading
On the evening of August 4th, 2021 at 8pm Stacie (my GYGG partner in chief) and I had the good fortune to GO back to BROADWAY. Doors that had been shuttered for some 500 days were flung wide open at the August Wilson Theater to welcome us and our fellow giddy audience members back to the theater in the form of a play called Pass Over….Continue Reading
What a winsome aphorism! So many syllables, fun to say, and a trifle tricky to spell. What pops into your brain when you envision this term? Continue Reading
Not sure what I was getting myself into when deciding to attend Trip School’s 2 day Tour Guide Boot Camp in NYC. Best decision ever.Continue Reading
As we take baby steps towards the business of carefully researching shows and connecting calendar dates to them, negotiating prices and opening our box office with the largest virtual red ribbon I can find; I must acknowledge the outsize gratitude and love I have for Central Park. Thank you Central Park for being such an easy and grand stage to love in the absence of emoting for Broadway….Continue Reading
